IUPAP Centennial Celebration Online Lecture
The Past, Present and Future of Physics Research in Japan
(SCJ Open Symposium)
Organizers: SCJ IUPAP Sub-Committee, Physical Society of Japan
This event has ended.
Aim:
The International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) is celebrating its centenary this year. Japan is a founding member, and IUPAP's century of history overlaps with the narrative of physics research in Japan from its earliest days to modern times. At this lecture, four speakers discuss how physics research started and developed over the years in Japan, and how it will develop in the future, in a simple and straightforward way. A panel discussion with mid-career and young researchers follows on future prospects to deliver a message to high school students.
