JPS organizes events to support the movement of human resources in the field of physics into all different areas of society, in addition to academic research.
JPS Career Expo
Since 2019, JPS has organized the "JPS Career Expo", career counselling exhibitions at meeting venues, to provide a space for physics students to meet with companies. These events were called off at the 2020 and 2021 Annual Meetings due to the cancellation of on-site meetings. During the 2021 Autumn Meeting, a panel session on career development was hosted virtually.

Archives on the Support Center for Career Development (2007-2019)
"Career Development for Qualified Human Resources in Physics", a joint proposal by JPS and four research institutes, was adopted as a Project to Promote Diversity in Career Paths in Science and Technology commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) between fiscal 2007 and 2009. The Support Center for Career Development was established in April 2007 in response to this with the aim of expanding opportunities for doctoral degree holders to play an active role in society. The activities and achievements during this period are compiled in "Links to Resources" (Japanese only) below.
After the conclusion of the project, the center continued to implement activities to the extent permitted with the budget and human effort of JPS. For more information, please see the following "Report on activities of the Support Center for Career Development since 2010" (Japanese only) by the center's director, Takeshi Kurimoto. Since the 74th Annual Meeting (2019), the JPS Career Expo has been launched as an activity along the same lines. The center was dissolved and developed into the Promotion Program for Next Generations in Physics in the same year.
